General Meeting of the European Nail Society

1. Approval of the minutes of the last General Meeting in Rhodos.Approved without any comments.
2. MEMBERS
- Number of Members:
Since our last meeting, we have welcomed 8 new members:
Dadah Maurice (Lebanon), Feuilhade de Chauvin Martine (France), Helenon Raymond (Martinique), Kaptan Oglu Asli (Turkey), Ongenae Katia (Belgium), Pouaha Jean (France), Ruben Beth (USA) and Wallberg Peter (Danemark).
2 members have been deleted because of lack of payment for 3 years (Baran W and De Jaegher C).
14 members have not paid 3 weeks after the 2nd reminder, and will be considered as having resigned at the end of the month if payment has not arrived (statutes of our Society allows this if they have not paid 1 month after the 1st reminder).
At this moment we have 81 members.
3. STATUTES
Below, please find all the Statute modifications that have been decided since our last General Meeting in Rhodos:
- ordinary members (medical doctors from Europe) and extraordinary members (medical doctors from outside Europe) will have the right to vote.
- no more than 2 extraordinary members can sit on the Board.
- the President, Vice-President and Secretary are elected for 2 years with one possible renewal within 8 years. However they can be re-elected for another position on the Board if necessary.
- 2/5 of the Board Members can be indefinitely eligible.
- the Treasurer must be a Belgian member since the society has its home in Belgium. He can stay on the board indefinitely, so long as the other Board Members agree to re-elect him every 2 years.
- if a Board Member does not turn up at 2 consecutive meetings, he could be asked to leave the Board.
- life-time membership will be possible on request for members over 47-years old.
In October 2007, in Buenos Aires, we will have renewal of the Board.

The meeting will take place at the Sheraton Hotel (Room Retiro B), Sunday September 30, from 12 a.m. to 17 p.m.
Galderma International will be responsible for the meal.

- for the ENS : Bertrand Richert (What's new in nail surgery)
- for the LANG : Miguel Allevato (What's new in therapy)
The congress will be between 17 and 21 september. Prof. Pascal Joly will be the Congress President. The Palais des Congre's will host the congress.
The suggested topic for the meeting has been:
"Dermatopathology and what's new on inflammatory nail disorders".
The program has to be defined.
Time and location will be announced in due time.
6. ENS-WEBSITE - http://www.euronailsociety.org
It has finally been launched even if it is not 100% functional yet.
7. NEWSLETTER
The newsletter will be included in the website. Bianca Maria Piraccini will be in charge of it.
From this year we will also have a BOOK REVIEW section. Matilde Iorizzo will be in charge of it.
Edith Duhard will be responsible to upload all the files.
8. GRANTS
DR (MRS) RANTHILAKA RASIKA RANAWAKA is the first 2007 grant winner.
She works for the DEPARTMENT OF DERMATOLOGY AND DEPARTMENT OF ONCOLOGY, GENERAL HOSPITAL ANURADHAPURA, SRI LANKA.
The project is entitled: Patterns of Chromonychia during Chemotherapy and Outcome on Long-Term Follow Up.
She will receive 1000 € for this project.
Robert Baran will be her supervisor, if necessary.
She will present her data in Paris 2008.
ANNE THEUNIS is the second winner.
She works for the DEPARTMENT OF DERMATOLOGY, CHU ST. PIERRE IN BRUSSELS (BELGIUM) together with Josette Andre'.
The project is entitled: Immunohistochemical Study of 25 Cases of Longitudinal Melanonychia.
She will receive 1000 € for this project.
Antonella Tosti will be her supervisor, if necessary.
She will present her data in Paris 2008.
